Here’s an extract from the spectacularly informative and entertaining book Hate-Crime Hoaxing For Fun And Profit. This bit’s all about the crazy spirits left-wing people believe in:
You may be beginning to see that the left-wing conception of the world is one of strange forces, which make people do things. Understanding this will help you make the correct word and phrase choices in the presentation of your victim-hood.
Here’s what you need to remember: the world is full of incorporeal spirits. The spirits are Bad and they prevent all the oppressed peoples of the world from doing various things (this is how they are oppressed). These spirits prevent women from having various careers, they prevent sub-Saharan Africans from building functional countries, they make Muslims engage in terrorism, they force women who were born men to keep dressing and acting like men, and they make inner-city black youths flunk school, deal drugs and shoot each other. The spirits are, basically, Evil Spirits.
The only people who are free of the Evil Spirits’ powers are the straight white men. Straight white men are unique in their ability to control their own lives. They have this ability, and are free of the Evil Spirits’ influence, because it it they who created, released and control the Evil Spirits. This is why it is okay to hold straight white men responsible for every bad thing that ever happens.
With all that in mind. When you present yourself as a victim you will err on the side of the passive voice. This is because, as a left-wing person, you believe that almost everyone is buffeted around by Evil Spirits. You will err on the side of describing yourself as the victim of one such incorporeal force. Say, for example, that you were a victim of institutional racism or the legacy of colonialism.
With practice you should be able to express your hate-crime in a very obscure sort of way. The advantage here is that you can, by talking in such strange abstractions, inflate even a minor hate-crime so that it sounds, to the progressives, much worse than it actually was. It will also limit people’s ability to investigate or look for evidence. As investigating the actions of Evil Spirits is notoriously difficult.
I don’t know if any of that made any sense out of context, but I guess if you need context you can buy the book. It’s full of context.
