Dumb Times can exclusively reveal that the long-awaited sequel to the 2009 science fiction film District 9 will revolve around the activities of a ‘Prawn Lives Matter‘ alien protest group.
Freshman writers of the sequel to Neil Blomkamp’s original, Said Ramadi and Clark Miller have said that in their sequel the aliens, known as ‘prawns’, will violently attack humans under the protection of a civil rights organization called ‘Prawn Lives Matter.’
“The point this time,” says Miller, “is that the violence and crime of the prawns, who are naturally stupid and violent, now has this sheen of legitimacy provided by a so-called civil rights organization.”
“But it’s really a political exploitation by this group, Prawn Lives Matter, made up of a few of the smarter prawns and con-artist humans trying to profit or build a political career for themselves.”
“So there’s this violence-excusing protest group disingenuously claiming the moral high ground, the horrific violence of the lower-caste prawns, the human authorities trying to keep control, and then there are divisions within Prawn Lives Matter itself.”
“Because, of course, some of the smarter Prawns know that they have legitimate problems. Problems that aren’t going to solved through chaos.”
Hollywood executives suspect the film will end up in development hell.
